Veterans Recreation Program

Eye Shine Foundation will be developing a recreation program for Veterans with vision loss.  Serving Veterans who are visually impaired is important because when a Veteran loses vision, they are losing the independence that they have known previously. They may lose their ability to drive, provide for their family, or participate in the recreational activities that they once did. Loss of vision and independence impact overall quality of life and leads to a greater risk for suicide in the Veteran population. Providing recreational opportunities for Veterans improves quality of life, gives these men and women who have given so much of themselves something to look forward to and can give them the will and desire to live, as they realize there is still more to live for.
